RecallSafe Privacy Policy

Private by default. RecallSafe has no account and no sign-in, and we operate no server that collects your personal information. Your allergens, profiles, location, and filters stay on your device.

Information stored on your device

The following are saved locally (in iOS UserDefaults) and never transmitted to us or any third party:

The allergens you choose to track;
Household and pet profiles you create;
Your selected state and category filters;
A record of which recalls you've already been notified about, so you aren't alerted twice.

Because this information never leaves your device, it is removed when you delete the app.

Recall data

To show you recalls, the app retrieves a publicly available file of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA FSIS) recall information. This is a one-way download containing no personal data, and all matching and filtering is performed on your device.

Purchases (RecallSafe Pro)

RecallSafe Pro is an optional one-time purchase. Transactions are processed by Apple and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, Inc. To validate a purchase and restore it across reinstalls or devices, RevenueCat processes your App Store purchase history and an anonymous, app-generated device identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or any of the allergens or profiles you track. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy and the Apple Privacy Policy.

No tracking and no analytics

RecallSafe does not track you across apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, and includes no third-party analytics or advertising software.

Children's privacy

RecallSafe is rated for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Recall information is sourced from public government feeds and may be incomplete or delayed; always verify details with the official source linked in the app. RecallSafe does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
